Costa Adeje is located in the south of the island of Tenerife, starting on the coast along Playa de Torviscas, Playa de Fanabe, Playa del Duque, El Beril, La Caleta, El Puertito, Playa Paraiso and Callao Salvaje. Costa Adeje is completely geared towards tourists, although it is the only town along the La Caleta Bay that still gives off the appearance of an authentic southern Tenerife town, with several restaurants specialising in seafood, just as it has all through its history.
La Caleta is situated at the eastern end of the Costa Adeje, while you will have to go west to find the myriad of hotels, the most recent of which are considered among the most luxurious on the island.

You can find many restaurants with typical Canarian cuisine with a variety of meats, with local potatoes (known as wrinkled potatoes..."papas arrugadas"), ie cooked in salt with their skin left on. These potatoes come with 'mojo', a green or red spicy sauce typical of the Canary Islands.

The sandy beaches in Costa Adeje are generally snarrow with a wide range of services and facilities. You can rent parasols, hammocks and enjoy any number of water activities. A walk along the beach leads you to the Duke of Abrantes house built in the 1930's to welcome the exiled King Alfonso XIII. This beautiful property is now under private ownership, and has given its name to the adjacent beach and the nearby shopping centre, Plaza del Duque. Here we can find shops offering popular brands, clothing stores, perfumeries, jewelery stores. Nearby, on Avenida Brussels on Thursday and Saturday there is a street market where you can find any number of sunglasses, watches, shirts, bags, and belts.
