As part of the seven islands which make up the Canary Islands, thousands of tourists arrive to Costa Adeje by boat every year.
Tenerife has two main ports: the port of Santa Cruz de Tenerife and the port of Los Cristianos which is the closest to Costa Adeje.
Santa Cruz is considered an Atlantic port, as main ferry services is also a known port of call for different international cruises that ake there way to North or South America, particularly for those traveling to and from Gran Canaria.
The port of Los Cristianos, is now a passenger ferry boat port, of great importance to the Canary Islands. If you intend to visit the western Isles, this is where to go.
The journey between Tenerife and La Gomera is four times a day. Departures from Tenerife, in the port of Los Cristianos (South Island) are at 9:00, 13:30, 17:30 and 20:30 h. Travel time depends on the boat. There are two boats: the 'Benchijigua Express' which takes just over 30 minutes and the 'Bonanza Express', which is slower, taking about 40-50 minutes.
These travel times also depend on the weather. Both boats are large, so if you bring a car you can enter the boat directly in your vehicle.
